On Choice, Birthdays, Death, and Compassion

Two things on this the eve of my twenty-first birthday.

The first: A very random thought from this morning while trying to tame the wicked wisps of the hair on top of my head. I was thinking about the celebration of birthdays and then I wondered...Do pro-choice supporters celebrate their birthdays?

And on another note, even more striking, more real, more debilitating. Read these names.

Noah, Paul, John, Luke and Mary.

Yes, they're all in the Bible.
But those are the names of the unfortunate children that were killed by their mother.

In a CNN article I recently read, a few pictures of the as-far-as-we-knew happy family were posted for all the world to see. In the background of one of these images hung a poster I've seen. The words weren't legible in the picture, but if you've seen the poster before you'd recognize it fairly easily. The poster contained multiple names for Jesus in multiple colors and fonts. What does this mean?

There are those even in the church that battle demons, both real and imagined, that we cannot even fathom. So instead of a handshake, a nod, and a curt "hello" the next time you're promtped to greet someone at church, why not show true compassion? You might just save the lives of some children you've never met.
